Chana dal palak cutlet is a healthy starter / snack which uses very less oil .
Both Chanadal & Spinach(Palak) has many health benefits.
Chanadal - is a rich antioxidant which helps in reducing inflammation & Spinach is rich in Vitamin A, C & K , helps to reduce oxidative stress and reduce blood pressure levels.

Ingredients :
Chana dal - 1 cup
Palak leaves / Spinach - 1 bunch

For chana dal mixture:
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1tsp
pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
For spinach mixture :
Jeera - 1/4 cup for seasoning
Garam masala - 2 tsp
Corn flour - 2 tsp
Dry mango powder - 1 tsp

Procedure :
Clean wash spinach leaves , and steam it in idli cooker / pressure cooker (without whistle ) for 7-8 mins. Do not add water to spinach leaves.
Blend steamed spinach to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
Prepare chanadal spice mixture. : Soak chanadal in water for 10 mins. Pressure cook the dal ( medium flame , 3 whistles ) .
Take out the cooked chana dal in a bowl , when it is hot add ginger-garlic paste + red chilli powder + pepper powder + salt to taste . Mix well . Mash it well and allow it to cool down.
Now take a kadai, pour some oil . Once its hot , add jeera ( 1/4 cup) , once its golden brown , add blended spinach leaves. Allow it to boil. Add coriander powder, garam masala, corn flour, kasuri methi, dry mango powder. Mix well.
Now , to this paste mix the chanadal -spice mixture. Mix well. Switch off the flame.
Once it cools down , make small balls and press to a cutlet shape.
In low - medium flame , with less oil roast the cutlet on a tawa till it turns golden brown on both sides.
Cutlet is ready to serve. Serve it with sauce.
