An edited recording of a radio broadcast 6 January 1953, with the choir of Derby Cathedral, directed by George Heath-Gracie. We realise that such a truncated recording is unsatisfying, but BBC Choral Evensongs from this time are very rare. This one would not have survived at all, had it not been for VB Sound Studios, who recorded it off-air onto two 12" 78rpm acetate discs.
