Ukraine's President has told the United Nations (UN)Security Council that it is dealing with a state that has turned the veto into a right-to-die, as he accused Russia of committing the most terrible war crimes in his country. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was addressing the Council via video link from Kyiv, calling for the UN system to be reformed, including the ineffective Security Council.
He suggested that either Russia is removed, or the council dissolves in the absence of decisions that can lead to peace in his country.
As Zelenskyycalled for a tribunal similar to those held for Nazi collaborators after World War Two, Russia's Ambassador again denied any responsibility for alleged war crimes.
He vowed to cut out what he called the 'malignant Nazi tumor that is consuming Ukraine'.
