A continuing review of the draft development and design standards for the proposed mixed-use and non-residential UDO zoning districts. Also, a presentation of zoning district name changes, corresponding to Place Type name changes made by the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
The district formerly called Light Industrial (IL) is now called Manufacturing & Logistics 1 (ML-1), and the district formerly called General Industrial (IG) is now called Manufacturing & Logistics 2 (ML-2). Both districts can be used in the Manufacturing & Logistics Place Type, formerly named General Industrial.
The district formerly called Light Industrial Mixed-Use (IMU) is now called Innovation Mixed-Use (IMU). This district is appropriate for the Innovation Mixed-Use Place Type, which was formerly named Light Industrial Mixed-Use.
The proposed Office Campus (OC) zoning district has been renamed to Office Flex Campus (OFC) to better recognize the broader range of uses that will be permitted in this district.
Development and design standards are discussed for the six UDO zoning districts proposed for the three Centers Place Types. These include the Neighborhood Center (NC), Community Activity Center 1 (CAC-1), Community Activity Center 2 (CAC-2), Regional Activity Center (RAC), as well as the Uptown Edge (UE), and Uptown Core (UC) zoning districts.
Development and design standards are also discussed for the two commercial districts proposed for the Commercial Place Type, namely General Commercial (CG) and Regional Commercial (CR).
