A tradition of the Newark School of Violin Making (based at Newark College here in the UK) is to have teams of four students competing against each other at the end of term, to make an instrument (a violin in white usually or a guitar), in just 24 hours. This is divided into three 8 hour days. Two former students, Steffi and Joerg Koplin decided to get together with two friends and attempt to make a viola in just 24 hours. They were not competing against any other team, but against time itself.
Obviously, this is not the way an instrument would normally be crafted!
