In this video I show you how to open or setup an older style SunnSetter Awning.
(I couldn't find the model number of this awning. If anyone knows please tell me in the comments.)
Steps to Open a Manual Retractable Awning:
Ensure Safety:
Make sure the area around the awning is clear of obstacles and that it is safe to extend the awning.
1. Unlock the Awning:
Check for any locking mechanisms or latches that keep the awning secured when retracted. Release these locks or latches.
2. Pull Out the Awning:
Stand in front of the awning and grasp the pull strap or handle if your awning is equipped with one. The pull strap or handle is usually attached to the front bar of the awning.
If there is no pull strap, gently grab the front bar of the awning.
3. Extend the Awning:
Walk backward slowly while pulling the awning out. This will allow the arms to extend and the awning fabric to unroll.
Continue pulling until the awning is fully extended and the arms are fully deployed.
4. Secure the Awning:
Some manual awnings have support arms that need to be locked into place once the awning is extended. Ensure these arms are securely locked.
5. Adjust the Pitch (if applicable):
If your awning allows for pitch adjustment, adjust the angle to your desired position by loosening and tightening the appropriate knobs or bolts.
