It was an interesting opening day to say the least. Steel Vengeance, Cedar Point's thrilling new hyper-hybrid roller coaster was sidelined most of the day, so I wasn't able to get much new footage. It eventually opened back up late that night, and I was one of the lucky few that got to ride. Though most of the park's 71 rides were operational, several were only open for a few hours, further frustrating yours truly! :) Many food stands and games were closed as well, not unusual early in the season. All in all, it was a wonderful day. It was great to see so many old friends again, and make some new ones. Filmed Saturday, May 5, 2018.
Gone are the Extreme Sports Stadium and Sandcastle Suites, both "shown" in this video. There's a new boardwalk along the beach linking the main parking lot with the beach entrance -- I failed to get footage of it this time, but will definitely check it out next visit. Frontier Town is celebrating it's 50th anniversary. There's cool new signage and theming in that area that I'll highlight in another vid. Thanks as always for watching and commenting!
