When a skull-shaped ship arrives above Metropolis, the city is sent into a panic under the threat of another impending invasion. Clark Kent/Superman (Matt Bomer) is asked by President Lex Luthor (Mark Strong) to investigate, while the city of Metropolis falls into chaos in Superman's absence as Clark comes face to face with Krypton and his origins, supplied by the artificial intelligence known as Brainiac 1.0 (Daniel Craig).
