Produced by Varian in 1984 to celebrate the success of EIMAC. Founded by Bill Eitel and Jack McCullough in 1934, Eitel-McCullough (EIMAC) became a leader in production of microwave tubes and large power grid tubes. EIMAC merged with Varian associates in 1965.
The film presents the history of EIMAC, but also features many personal stories from employees, and interviews with the founders.
The Perham Collection of Early Electronics at History San Jose contains many examples of EIMAC's products, as well as corporate publications and reference files. This videotape is part of the Perham Collection, but copyright remains with Varian and History San Jose does not authorize any reproduction or use.
