"A roaring success!" That is how our Better Business Breakfast seminar, sponsored by Santam Insurance, was described by those who attended the event. Held at The Farm Inn in Silver Lakes, Pretoria, a 120-ha wildlife sanctuary, the stage was set for an insightful discussion on game and livestock insurance. The expert panel of speakers delivered wonderful insight into some of the challenges and intricacies of the relatively niche, but rapidly growing game and livestock market. Dr Paul Labout, director and genetics advisors at Wildlife Stud Services, Rachelle Cloete, founding member of GMP Traceability Identification Management Software, Dr PW Prinsloo, vice-chairperson of the National Red Meat Producers Organisation and Dr Danie Odendaal, director at Afrivet training services made up the speaker's list. More than 100 brokers and risk managers were treated to game drives, biltong, and all the necessary tools to sell game and livestock insurance.
