The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association bans jerk downs - the violent method of roping calves that can injure and kill them.
Nevertheless, here are three calf jerk downs which occurred July 20, 2016. None of the contestants were fined or disqualified.
A jerk down is a dangerous form of roping that causes the calf to flip over backwards, landing on his back, neck or head. Calves can have their backs, necks and legs broken, or their tracheas crushed.
You don't have to be veterinarian to see the cruelty. You only have to have a brain and a heart - both of which are obviously and sorely lacking in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
