Good lighting is way more important than a good camera. Personally I think the softbox is the best cheap lighting for video—that’s why I wanted to review the setup I use every day. Whether it’s a YouTube or Facebook, Instagram, or twitch a good lighting setup can make the difference between looking pro or totally amateur. You’ll see my hatred for those 160 LED on-camera lights if you watch the first part of this video and why I think softboxes are a better way to go for filmmaking.

The best part is soft boxes are every bit as good for photography as they are for video (I actually prefer them). Plus they’re cheap, super easy to use, and a snap to set up.
