We start by discussing the different models and what comes with each package - Dyson V8 Absolute, Dyson V8 Animal, Dyson V7 Absolute, Dyson V7 Animal, and Dyson V7 Motorhead. In addition, we discuss the batteries, and provide tables of run times - both official and tested.

We look into the level of filtration provided by the V7 and the V8 and highlight which units have HEPA filters. We look into the system for emptying the dust canisters and compare them to that provided with the V6. In addition, we use a digital noise level meter and compare the decibels generated by each vacuum.

Both the V7 and V8 are then run through a detailed series of cleaning tests on both carpet and bare floors - the results are provided in a table and discussed. We highlight the different weights of each model (V7 and V8) and also the approximate costs of each vacuum. Finally we sum all this up in a final short discussion.
