Part of the national highway 16 between chinaavutupalli and gundugolanu is under construction. It is upgrading to six lanes.

The National Highways Authority of India has approved six-laning of the Vijayawada bypass from Gollapudi to Chinnakakani, which includes a major bridge across River Krishna, and issued work orders for the same under Bharatmala Pariyojana.

All the national highway projects have been taken up by the National highway authority of India (NHAI).
