Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Demco Easy Latch Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler. Fits a two inch diameter hitch ball. Has a 10,000 pound weight capacity and you can see has a nice prime finish to it. Now this is a straight tongue coupler, so it'll let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle.
Provides a connection point for your two inch hitch ball. And what's nice on this coupler it uses the easy latch mechanism, which will ensure a nice safe, simple secure hookup and disconnect. This will let you hook up when the latch is in the closed position, like it is now. You just drop this coupler over the hitch ball and the latch'll snap into place. And just to demonstrate that, I happen to pull, here's a two inch hitch ball that this will fit on.
So, you can see once you get your coupler up over the ball, all you have to do is push down on it and if you notice, it snaps right into place, you're ready to go. Your latch, you didn't even have to flip it open to install it or close it to lock it. It automatically just pops on there and you're ready to go. Now to disconnect it again, you just pull up on your trigger latch and it comes right off. And again, just to connect it, go over the ball, push down and you're connected.
Makes it very easy to install and easy to remove. Now also, what's nice is on this easy latch coupler right here you'll notice this hole through the side of the coupler itself. That's where you can insert a coupler lock, through this hole. So it'll keep that latch from lifting, preventing a disconnect and theft of your trailer. You do want to get one that has a diameter of 5/16 of an inch, which is the diameter of the hole here and you do wanna make sure you get one that has a minimum span of 2 1/2 inches. That's the measurement here, so you wanna make sure you have one that'll fit that range. This is a sturdy steel construction. You can see it has a nice prime paint finish to it. Offers excellent corrosion resistance. Now this is a weld on installation. It is designed to fit onto a three inch wide trailer tongue. This part is made in the USA. Application again is straight tongue trailers, three inch wide channel. Ball size it fits is two inch diameter. And again, the weight capacity on this is 10,000 pounds.
