Susan Brownell Anthony is often remembered by today's Americans as the face on a one-dollar coin that bore a resemblance to a quarter. Yet, to a different generation of Americans, she was affectionately known as "Aunt Susan,"- the relentless crusader who dedicated her life to the cause of women's rights. While she never held political office, Anthony could be rightfully regarded as one of America's earliest and most impactful female
politicians. Her unwavering focus on women's issues, and her adept tactical skills, rendered her a remarkably effective advocate.
