In 2016, a family of four from Southern California went on a camping trip in the Cleveland National Forest. They set up their tent near a small stream and spent the day hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
But as night fell, they started to hear strange noises coming from the woods around them. At first, they assumed it was just the typical sounds of nature, but as the noises grew louder and more persistent, they started to feel uneasy.
Suddenly, they heard a loud thud on the roof of their tent. They were too scared to investigate, so they stayed put and tried to ignore it. But then they heard another thud, and then another. They were convinced that something was trying to get into their tent.
In a panic, they gathered their things and fled into the woods. As they ran, they realized that they had left their car keys in the tent, so they had no way to escape. They spent the night huddled together, too scared to sleep.
The next morning, they returned to their campsite to find that their tent had been completely destroyed. The poles were bent and the fabric was torn to shreds. They never found out what had caused the damage or made the noises that scared them so badly, but they never went camping again.
