Spacecode RFID transforms blood bag management
Watch this video to learn how the Spacecode Fridge stores, monitors and tracks RFID and LED-tagged blood bags in fast-paced environments such as: blood banks; transfusion centers; hospitals; clinics and outpatient clinics.
Here`s how it works:
1. When blood is needed for a surgical procedure or transfusion, check the inventory status of your blood bags with Spacecode`s unique ERP-integrated system.
2. Open the Spacecode Fridge using either your biometric fingerprint or RFID access card.
3. Spacecode`s revolutionary “pick to light” LED tag illuminates the specific blood bag/s that you require. This saves precious time on manual searches and protects against oversights, removal of incorrect bags and potential delivery to the wrong patient.
4. Once you remove the bags, close the door, and your ERP will automatically update your inventory count.
5. The system then prints out a label that is affixed to the blood bag. This label includes critical safety information such as the patient`s blood type, donation number and expiration date, ensuring that you remove only the correct bag and deliver it to the right patient.
When you want to return a blood bag, open the Spacecode Fridge and replace it. Then watch how the system instantly updates your inventory and the data relating to the length of time it was out of the fridge is automatically recorded. This provides a permanent, paperless inventory traceability as well as a constant record of exactly who accessed the Spacecode Fridge, when it was accessed, what bag was added or removed, and where the transaction occurred.
