12.05.2021 | 10:50 AM | SAN DIEGO – Police responded to reports of a male sitting in an empty field with waving a gun around.
When the officers arrived, they found the male and he was waving his arms in the air and talking to no one..
They gave commands to the male to surrender and he refused to cooperate.
Officers could not see a gun but did see a bulge in his waistband and something under a laptop laying on the ground next to the male.
After approx 30 minutes, the male stood up and semi-followed the directions of the officers and he was detained.
There was no weapon found, but the man was suffering from a mental episode and was under the influence of a narcotic.
He was taken to the County Mental Hospital for a 72-hour hold.
