With Android 11, many people are switching to the new navigation gesture method but some people are seeing conflicts with this when trying to open the hamburger menu navigation drawer.

For some, simply disabling the back navigation gesture their solution to avoiding this type of conflict. And you can do just that. I have a link to a previous tutorial showing exactly how to do it.
But for others, we've begun to learn a different type of back gesture. One that helps to trigger the navigation drawer of Android 11 apps instead of the back gesture.

There are a few different gestures people have become acclimated at using too.
In this video, I show the long-press method (also known as the delayed swipe gesture), the "L swipe gesture," "J swipe gesture," and the
diagonal swipe gesture."
Each of them seems to offer their own strengths and some people are more able to trigger that hamburger menu using some more than others.
So if you're having trouble accessing this menu consistently when attempting to swipe in from the left side of the screen, and dislike having to reach up into the corner of an app to tap the icon, then try out some of these alternative swipe gestures.
Just remember, it can take some practice (likely just a few days) before any of them feels second nature. But once you settle in on one you shouldn't have any trouble opening up that menu in apps on Android 11+.
