In the thirteenth episode of The Instant Camera Guy, I service an utterly FILTHY SX-70 Model 1. During teardown, I find out it's a final generation Model 1, and point out numerous parts unique to this camera.

In todays episode I spend time tearing down this final-generation SX-70 Model 1. Released just before the Alpha, this camera featured numerous unique (and annoying) parts, including; a PCB that accepts two kinds of flash fire assemblies, a crimped lens cell and square head L/D wheel screws!
I spend some time discussing what to look out for when purchasing an SX-70, and discuss that cosmetics is not necessarily everything!
In my opinion, there is no point spending a premium trying to find a mint condition SX-70 when they all require overhauling anyway. There is simply no SX-70 on earth that DOESNT require a service by now, and they will all need a similar amount of work done to them, regardless of condition!
