Welcome to 7 days of yin yoga. Each day's practice will focus on certain target areas of the body. In yin yoga, we look for functional alignment vs. aesthetic alignment. Aesthetic alignment is concerned with how an individual looks in a pose, whereas, functional alignment is concerned with how and where an individual feels the stress of the targeted tissues. Functional alignment takes into account skeletal variation - everyone's bones are different so everyone will look a little/ a lot different in each pose!
My hope is that at the end of the 7 days you will come to appreciate your unique skeleton and cater each pose to your body's needs. Enjoy the exploration yinside!
Today's practice targets the inner thighs / adductors. Recommended props = 2 blocks and a blanket/towel.
