The production process starts with an induction furnace that heats 12-meter long bars of different thicknesses. Immediately after the bars are subjected to hot cutting, the Comau robots that are used in the process come into play. The first robot takes the piece to the press for the first flattening where, in fact, it performs the scraping of the piece. A second robot takes the piece and deposits it in the first mold, after which the piece is taken by another robot and inserted into the mold that will produce the finished part. At that point, other robots handle the piece for other phases of the work, namely deburring and automatic reflanging. Finally, the piece is placed in the cooling tunnel to lower its temperature.
