Zachary Levi put on a whopping 20 pounds of muscle in a month for the film, bringing his weight to 220 pounds! In addition to working out 5-6 times a week, Zach consumed a lot of calories, about 3700 calories a day. In other words, he consumed about 1000 more calories per day than was recommended. However, even with such a massive diet, he still couldn’t reach the 5000 calories a day consumed by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill for their DC movie roles. Moreover, despite Levi working out for the role, he still had a slender physique, so he had to wear a padded Shazam suit.
