UK Level Crossings Channel | UK Level Crossing Spotter & Trains
A level crossing with an obstacle detection system found at the edge of the village of Saxilby a few miles to the North West of Lincoln. It is located in quite a pleasant spot on a narrow, no-through country lane which sees very little usage from road traffic, and the track crosses the road here at an angle meaning that this level crossing is fairly long given that it only has two tracks. This level crossing is also located on part of the busy Freight Corridor connecting Felixstowe with the north, so rail freight traffic through here is reasonably frequent. The location of this level crossing is quiet, and the alarms are fairly quiet too, but oddly, there's four of them, rather than just two, a set-up which is usually only seen on busier level crossings for pedestrians and vehicles.
Only the train was filmed during the second lowering seen in this video, as the level crossing activated unexpectedly for it and I was unable to film the lowering sequence.
Thanks for watching!
