Hi I am Hydlide of Reasonexperts
I have seen many mails and private messages after making a series about mixing and mastering in Propellerhead Reason. So I thought I would address this workflow issue. Some of you may have been trying to send a track to a mixing engineer or a mastering engineer. And this results in to the question like "how do we do that?"
While this is my workflow, which also depends on the people you are working with. But as far as it comes down to the basic standards the process kind of goes as followed.
A Mixing engineer will often require an exported song file that still has headroom to play around with. Therefor, get rid of any mastering software in your mix to get that head room.
A mixing engineer usually works different, because they prefer to mix with individual tracks instead. This is where bounce mixer channels comes in to play. Usually this may require some pre-work before making the final render (naming the individual tracks for instance).
Once all this is done you can bounce the tracks and send those to a mixing engineer.
Hopefully this info is usefull. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to leave a comment. I usually listen in to everyone their questions. And remember, there is no such thing as a dumb question ;)
