Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is a widely accepted treatment for peritoneal neoplasms, either primary or secondary to digestive or gynecologic malignancy. However, the procedure is associated with a risk of morbidity. Recently, the application of laparoscopy and a minimally invasive approach has been evaluated for a combination of CRS and HIPEC procedures, which has yielded promising results in selected patients.
The skills of surgeons play a vital role in the outcome of such complex, highly specialized procedures and also in the post-operative quality of life of patients.
Join the experts to discuss “Burnout and Performance in Surgery” and “Minimally Invasive Cytoreductive Surgery and HIPEC” in an exclusive session in association with IAGES on 20th August 2022, 8:30 PM IST onwards.
