Block A is at rest on a frictionless table top. Block A is attached to Block B via a string. The string of negligible mass is draped over a frictionless pulley and Block B is suspended above the ground. When Block B is released it accelerated downwards.

Qualitative force diagrams are used with Newton's Laws of Motion to algebraically derive an equation for acceleration.
