Sung here by Sir Scott Mensching 'Zat You, Santa Claus? was recorded on October 22, 1953 by Louis Armstrong and The Commanders and released in December 1953 on Decca Records (Decca 9-28943); the studio orchestra under the direction of Toots Camarata (who also did the big band arrangement ) featured Billy Butterfield , Lou McGarity , Cutty Cutshall , Hymie Schertzer , Al Klink , Bernie Leighton , Carmen Mastren , Sandy Block and Ed Grady .
