A violent football fan has been sentenced to three months' jail for injuring an A-League goalkeeper with a metal bucket, as part of a chaotic pitch invasion at Melbourne's AAMI Park last year. The attack, by Alex Agelopoulos on Tom Glover and the footage of blood streaming down the Melbourne City player's face, made headlines around the world. Agelopoulos was released on bail, after his lawyer launched an immediate appeal against the sentence. Magistrate Rosemary Falla said she wanted to send a "clear message" to the 23-year-old, handing down the jail term for violent disorder.
