Japan has extended its COVID-19 state of emergency for another month until March 7. Ten prefectures will be affected, including Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Tochigi is the only area where the decree will be lifted, after it expires on Feb 7. Japan is pressing ahead with the Summer Olympics, regardless of the pandemic. Tokyo 2020 organisers said the government is working closely with the International Olympic Committee to make it happen.
