This clip shows female Blue 152 and The Stranger on the nest, having been there together on and off since 13.38. Despite her calls, he hasn't responded with any fish, although he did bring a clump of moss earlier and mantle over it as if it were a fish. Suddenly at 15.23.50 he starts opening his wings before taking off vertically out of sight. She ducks low, he descends and lands on her head, facing the wrong way, helicopters up, lands on her head again still facing the wrong way, and slides awkwardly down her back and off her onto the nest floor. He stands off to the side while she calls indignantly. If this is his mating attempt, he needs a bit more practice!
There have been three females and two males - Louis and this one, The Stranger - visiting the nest so far this season. Three females: this one Blue 152, and two unringed ones, the good looking healthy one on 18th April ([ Ссылка ]), and the small emaciated female who appeared with Louis on the nest 23rd April ([ Ссылка ]) . Louis is reported to be nesting in the area on a non-camera platform with a female who hasn't been positively ID'd but is described as big and dark, so more than likely the healthy one seen on 18th April, if indeed his female is one of the three visitors to the nest so far this season.
