Tom was a high school student. He loved playing video games and spending time with his friends, but his grades were not very good. His teachers often told him, “You need to study more, Tom.” But Tom always said, “I don’t have time to study.”
One day, his older sister Emma visited him. Emma was a university student and always got good grades. She asked Tom, “How are your studies going?”
Tom sighed. “Not very well. I don’t like studying, and I don’t know where to start.”
Emma smiled. “You don’t have to study all day. Just study for one hour every day. It’s enough to make a big difference if you are consistent.”
Tom wasn’t sure. “One hour? That’s still a lot of time. I could play games instead.”
Emma laughed. “Think of it as an investment in yourself. Just try it for a week and see how you feel.”
Tom decided to try. On Monday, after dinner, he sat at his desk and studied one subject for 25 minutes. Then he took a five-minute break and studied another subject for 25 minutes. By the end of the hour, Tom felt accomplished.
He repeated this every day for a week. On the weekend, Tom looked back at his notes and realized he had learned a lot. It didn’t feel as hard as he thought it would.
After a month, Tom saw real results. His test scores improved, and he felt more confident in class. His teachers noticed the change too. One day, his math teacher said, “Great job, Tom! Your work has improved so much.”
Emma asked him, “How does it feel to study one hour a day now?”
Tom smiled. “It feels good! I actually understand the lessons, and I don’t feel so stressed before exams.”
Emma nodded. “See? One hour is all it takes if you do it every day.”
Tom kept studying one hour a day, even when he didn’t have a test coming. He started using different techniques, like making flashcards, watching videos, and asking teachers for help when he didn’t understand something.
His grades continued to improve, and so did his confidence. When his friends asked him how he managed to do well, Tom said, “I study one hour a day. It’s not about how much you study at once, but about doing it every day. You should try it too!”
Soon, some of Tom’s friends joined him in the library after school. They studied together and helped each other with difficult subjects. Studying became more fun, and they all improved as a group.
Tom realized that studying one hour a day didn’t just help his grades—it also taught him discipline and time management. He still had time to play video games, see his friends, and relax, but now he felt proud of his achievements.
When the final exams came, Tom was ready. He didn’t need to stay up all night studying because he had already prepared. He finished the school year with great grades and felt more motivated to keep learning.
