Republicans had warned of a surge in illegal border crossings that awaited the end of Title 42 on May 11, but the Biden administration says no surge has occurred in the few weeks since the authority ended.
Though some experts doubt that the end of the rule actually resulted in less illegal immigration. They say the Biden administration is simply redirecting more migrants through ports of entry and releasing them into the US illegally.
