A thieving bear was caught in the act while stealing a garbage can at a Connecticut residence in mid-October, with video showing it walking on two legs in the process.
As Connecticut’s bear population has increased, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) encourages residents to remove “food attractants” to reduce the chance they will go near homes.
According to the department’s website, they do not often relocate bears, unless “there is little likelihood that it can leave safely on its own and […] the bear is in a position where it can be safely immobilized.”
