Just like other cities in the Islamic world, local markets and bazaars in the predominantly Kurdish city of Qamishli in Rojava, or northern Syria are bustling with people preparing to welcome the Islamic holy month of Ramadan starting on Saturday.
People hurriedly buy their needed preparations the month filled with daytime fasting, followed by large nighttime meals.
Arabs and Kurds walk the streets here, as Qamishli has been further diversified by an influx of IDPs.
There is no shortage of goods in what was a war-torn city.
