Bala Vikasa is one of the largest nonprofits in India, with a 43-year history of multi-sectorial development alongside Canadian parent organization SOPAR. We are pioneers of hi-impact sustainable Community-Driven Development interventions in India, working tirelessly to empower the rural poor into self-reliant communities that ensure dignity, human rights, and equal opportunities for everybody.
Founded by India-born Bala T Singareddy Gingras and French-Canadian André Gingras, recipients of Canada’s 2nd-Highest Civilian Honor, the Meritorious Service Cross, Bala Vikasa has impacted the lives of 6Million people in over 6,500 villages across 6 Southern-Central Indian states.
