With major opposition parties announcing a boycott of Bangladesh's national elections to be held on the 7th of January, indications are the country could be headed to a one-sided poll. The biggest opposition party BNP and others have staged strong protests after PM Sheikh Hasina refused to step aside to allow for a neutral caretaker government during polls. Bangladesh's democratic foundations show signs of going for a toss.
