Delhi Police has served a notice to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in connection with a fake video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Reddy has been asked to reply by May 1.
Delhi Police’s Special Cell on Sunday informed that it has taken action against individuals responsible for circulating a doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, falsely suggesting his stance on reservations.
The FIR targets certain handles on social media platforms, which edited Shah’s statements to falsely suggest that the minister argued for ending reservations in the country. This action came a day after BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya said that the Telangana Congress wing was spreading an edited video of Shah, “which is completely fake and has the potential to cause large-scale violence.
In his post on X, Malviya clarified that Home Minister Shah only spoke about removing the unconstitutional reservation given to Muslims, on the basis of religion.
