For the past 5 years, I've done nothing but streamer fly fish for trout, smallmouth, striped bass, etc! Truth be told after my first year, I sucked so badly that I almost quit. After my second year, I modified my approach with flies and fly lines and did OK. My third year, after spending more than $700 on fly lines and breaking a fly rod, I finally found a line and rod that worked in perfect harmony. Now after lots of mistakes and years, I've got this streamer fishing dialed in and I want to share it, so you can learn from my mistakes!
Full disclaimer, I don't streamer fish from a boat and I'm sure standard techniques, lines, rods, etc. work there. For me... 99.999% of the time I'm wading with no space to back cast. This set-up allows me to cast in any of these situations! Oh yeah, game on and tight lines! I hope you enjoy!!
