Angela Rayner faced backlash last night for shelving her intentions to give preference to long-term British residents for limited council homes.
The Labour Housing Secretary has stealthily abandoned the Conservative idea to implement a 'UK connection test' in applications for social housing.
Her department has made it clear that it will not proceed with the change, which would have restricted access to the 1.3 million-member waiting list to only those residing in the UK for a minimum of ten years.
Talk’s Jeremy Kyle is joined by Reform UK member Ben Habib, who says “the fundamental protest being made” across the country is that immigrants are “taking our jobs, taking our social housing and getting benefits ahead of British people”.
