A popular dessert for South Africans that combines peppermint chocolate, whipped cream, caramel and biscuits. You won't be able to stop eating this!

It is usually made as one big tart but I decided to make mini desserts which are so cute and perfect for your dinner guests or for your family & friends!
The original ingredients for this recipe cannot be found in all countries but simple substitutes will give you similar results!
Peppermint Crisp Tart Recipe
- 200g graham cracker or digestive biscuits
- 125g butter (optional for mini desserts)
- 1 cup (250ml) cream
- 1 can of caramel (I use a can of condensed milk and boil it for about 4 hours to make a thick caramel)
- Peppermint chocolate (grated or chopped finely)
1. For a large tart, layer the biscuits without any butter or for mini desserts, crush the biscuits and mix with melted butter
2. Whip cream and caramel separately (just enough to loosen up the caramel and stiff peaks for cream)
3. Fold caramel into whipped cream (for a large tart, mix 3/4 of chocolate into cream mixture and layer with biscuits)
4. For mini desserts, layer the chocolate after the biscuits and then the cream mixture
5. Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top of tart.
