Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has appeared in court in Milan on charges of corruption.
Berlusconi denies having paid his British former lawyer David Mills to lie under oath.
Mills is the husband of former UK cabinet minister Tessa Jowell. he also denies the charges.
The offences allegedly occurred during two corruption trials in the 1990s.
Berlusconi claims the case is the result of a vendetta against him by the judiciary. He told Italian radio there should be a parliamentary inquiry.
