Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is located in southwest Kenya and is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Together with Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, it forms Africa’s most diverse and spectacular ecosystems, possibly the world’s top big-game viewing safari destination.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve spans 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and sits 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. Including conservancies, the area is more than twice the size. It is home to over 95 species of mammals and 570 species of birds.
