In this video I am installing a bow eye on a wooden boat hull. I am following the Gougeon brothers method for high load fitting installation and explaining the benefits of installing a fitting in this way.
The bow eye is set into West System Epoxy thickened with 404 high density filler. The threads of the fixing are set in oversize pockets which expand the holding area of the thread and create a barrier to stop water ingress into the wood.
