From films to literature to popular media, images and ideas of witchcraft in Africa--or an African witchcraft--saturate our consciousness. Those images and ideas trigger deep feelings, conjuring up (pun intended) all sorts of evil, wickedness, and diabolical acts. But is there an "African witchcraft"? And do those things we think about, when we read or hear the word "witchcraft," have anything to do with Africa and peoples of African ancestry? This episode explores these questions and more.
