Former apartheid policeman, Joao Rodrigues, has died. He was charged with the murder of anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Timol. Timol died while in police custody in 1971. Human Rights lawyer and former TRC commissioner Yasmin Sooka has been calling for justice for apartheid-era crimes victims and for a commission of inquiry into why more than 300 cases the TRC commission handed to the NPA, have still not been prosecuted. She elaborates.
