The 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War is on Thursday.
Millions were killed in the three-year conflict, when China-backed North Korea fought US soldiers alongside South Koreans.
As the years pass, fewer of the veterans and refugees of the war remain to tell their stories.
Al Jazeera's Florence Looi met war veterans in the South Korean city of Busan, as they recalled their experiences.
