Item Checklist below. In this video, I demonstrate a method of studying for the AMC series as well as any other Math Competition or even just Math in general. This method was designed by me, I did not learn it from anywhere else. It is however likely that someone at some point has thought of a similar approach to studying. I recommend the large notebook process for your first year of training. Think of like training wheels, eventually you will take them off. After the first year, you might consider continuing to use it on 1 problem each test. The notebook will also serve as something you can use to teach/tutor with later. The small notebook however should be used and possibly redone multiple times and kept until you graduate...maybe longer. It is essential. There is a link at the end of the video to more in depth discussion of the small notebook.

The things you will need
1. A small notebook (Moleskine, or cheap Walmart pocket notebook size)
Moleskine: [ Ссылка ]
2. A regular College Ruled Notebook: [ Ссылка ]
3. Highlighters and Pen: [ Ссылка ]
4. Double stick tape: [ Ссылка ] or a glue stick: [ Ссылка ]
The main process is what I call EXTRACTION: Getting the useful information out of a previously completed test or book so that you can throw away your copy of it and just keep the desired extractable learning material.
You will discover how to think step by step through problems, and then diagram the proper thought process in the large notebook. Doing Math Competitions is basically an exercise in creative problem solving and critical thinking skills. What does that exercise look like in practice? I show you in this video.
This method can be applied to
1. Problems you got incorrect
2. Problems you skipped
3. Problems in which a much faster, more efficient, or beautiful solution exists that you would like to explain to a future version of yourself who will be looking back at this notebook to study.
As always please ask about anything you wish to understand better or if you would like to see me diagram the thought process on a particular AMC level question, please request in the comments as well. All feedback is appreciated, let me know if you feel this method would be effective and if you plan on adding it to your personal methods for studying. :)
