Case Ithaka Institute: Climate farming connecting local action and global comprehension in the face of climate change - Schmidt, Draper and Pandit
Hans-Peter Schmidt presented an approach of using concrete and practical symbols from the local environment to help explaining climate change in rural context.
One of the findings of the Ithaka Institute was to reach out to a larger group of farmers through the farmer-to-farmer exchange: farmers can become ambassadors to take the best practices further to neighbouring farmers.
This presentation was organized by FAO as a part of a learning event “Communicating on climate change with farmers – Rural advisory services helping to face uncertainty“ in December 2016.
